Water · In-house development

Treating contaminated groundwater by redesigning the well

Radiological contamination in groundwater is conventionally addressed with a costly treatment plant. We developed an alternative method applied within the well itself, and measured its effect in the laboratory before and after.

What we delivered
  • Identifying the least-contaminated horizon within the aquifer
  • Mechanical perforation to draw from it, sealing off the contaminated horizon
  • Laboratory verification of physical and chemical composition, before and after
